Directions Research Announces New President

We are pleased to announce that Jim Lane has been elected the new President & Chief Marketing Officer of Directions. Jim, who is currently CMO, will be taking over for Randy Brooks who, after serving as Founder and President for the past 27 years, will assume the role as Chairman of the Board.

With 42 years of experience in the industry Mr. Brooks comments: "My goal has always been to have Directions Research owned and operated by the senior management of the firm. The leadership Jim and other members of our senior staff have provided makes the timing right for me to step back from the day-to-day operations and serve the firm as Chairman. This transition of management fulfills a lifelong goal of mine and I could not be more encouraged at the prospects for our continued success."

With over 30 years of high-impact market research experience and business leadership, Mr. Lane has worked in ownership and managerial positions with many different firms including; CMO and Senior Vice President of Business Development for Directions Research, Senior Vice President of Catalina Marketing, and President and Owner of Market Intelligence, Inc. (a full service custom research firm that was acquired by Catalina Marketing).

Jim has worked with some of the best and brightest client and vendor partners in the industry. His knack for helping clients and research teams get focused on objectives and business insights translates to success in every industry and practice area. As the leader of the Directions Research client service team, Jim works directly with his team and clients every day.

Jim earned his Masters in Management from the J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management, Northwestern University and his BS in Marketing at Bradley University.
